Will signed up for his first Triathlon, after watching many of mom and Dad's races he decided it was time for him to try his own. So we made the journey to the Chisago Lakes Kids Tri. Williams age group was a 50' swim, 1/2 mile bike and a 200 meter run. To say the least it was complete caos, There was a see of paporatzy parents and little bodies running everywhere! Will had a great time participating and loved every minute of it. He is still asking when his next Tri is!!

Just a couple more photos. It has been great having Jill in town!

Kindergarten Graduation

Ahhh how they grow so fast!! William just graduated from kindergarten! it was a beautiful ceremony. His class sang 3 songs all in Spanish of-course. Then they played the commencement music as they called each kid to the stage where they received their certificate! The hand-made caps from construction paper added the finishing touch! We are very proud parents! Senorita Joyner was a great teacher and I am sure William will miss her!!

Mom Retirement Party

So Kari's mom finally decided to retire from teaching at the Jr High were she had been for the last 21 years. We all think about the day we get to retire but when it comes its an emotional time. Karen was surrounded by co-works, family and Friends to celebrate a wonderful time in her life. The party went off without any hitches, both Kari and I took the day off work to run around and get everything just right for the party. Jill intended to help but her D%@# plane broke in Arizona forcing the cancellation of her flight and missing pretty much the whole day, she made the last hour of the party so she did make it! but is rather miffed at the airline industry, rightfully so! Kari and I made a slide show for her mom and watched it at the party, here are just a few gems from all the pictures we scanned in!

William started his first real soccer season. Last year we did both soccer and T-Ball, it was too much for mom and dad, so this year we asked William to pick one! I was so happy to hear him choose soccer, how european of him!! :) He recieved his jersey and when mom found out his jersey number was #23 she smiled and said that it was David Beckham's number!

I just love this picture of the Nate and Charlie, Nate figured out how to turn the faucet on in the backyard, and the 2 of them decided to have some fun in the mud!!

William learned how to rollerblade over the Memorial Camping trip. He got to watch mom do it first then picked it up himself!

Below here are the ones we framed for mom!

The boys and I surprised mom with breakfast in the morning and our secret present that we have been working on for a while. I took the boys to Old Navy and picked out coordinated outfits and then the following day skipped out of work early and headed down to Lake Harriett with my camera and tripod. Setting the 10 second timer I jumping into the pose! we managed to get the perfect shots and had them printed and framed. Below are the winning shots. Mom said it was the best Mothers day ever!

Random other stuff

So to bring you up to date, Nathan is in his own big boy bed!!! He seems to love it. Although there was one night we put the boys to bed, thought they were asleep and went to the basement to watch our movie when we checked on the boys, we found Nate asleep with his brother! it was very cute.

We also hosted our first wine club party! it was fantastic, we did a blind tasting on Cabs! they were amazing! and we enjoyed many others, almost too many! there was 19 people (1 pregnant non drinker and 18 others) and we went through 21 bottles of wine! yikes!! those teachers can drink! It was a great time and we look forward to the next one. I guess you could say people enjoyed themselves, we had 2 take cabs, 1 sleep over, and another had to stop at the car wash on the way home! :)

Oklahoma

So we finally made the trip to Oklahoma to see our college roomates Carl, Christine, Jenny and Eric and there kids. We roadtripped all the way there, leaving the house at 3:30am and arriving at 6:00pm. Actually the car ride down there went very good. While visiting we toured Oklahoma University, home of the Sooners!! We got to run out onto the football field (80,000 capacity), we visited the Oklahoma City bombing site, and mostly just enjoy time with our friends. It was a great family get away!
